This is the letter N for North with a half arrowhead pointer or a pull sign attached.

It is a reverse or water/mirror image, hold up to a mirror for proper reading.

This symbol is used to hide it's proper meaning or to pull a number from the left side of the map, or both.

Use a straight edge ruler along the short pull line and extend the line, if it hits a number that's the distance to travel North.
