Pirate Treasure

Captain Kidd is believed to have buried treasure near Colebrook in Coos County; in the area of Weare, Hollsboro County; Rye Pond, close to Antrim; and near Portsmouth. Blackbeard is thought to have hidden treasure somewhere near the Isle of Shoals on Smuttynose, Landover, White and Star Islands.

The pirate John Quelch is supposed to have buried over nine pounds of gold and 190 pounds of silver on the west side of Appledore Island. Almost all historical societies and libraries along the coast of New Hampshire have records and accounts of pirate treasure.
